For genealogists and historians interested in the vibrant and vital community of Taos, New Mexico, baptismal records are an indispensable resource. This second volume in the series of Taos Baptisms, extracted and published by the New Mexico Genealogical Society, covers the years 1827 - 1837. The extracted records include the name of the person being baptized, the baptism date, the person's age at baptism, names of parents, residence, and names of godparents. Some records also include the names of maternal and paternal grandparents. This volume includes a translation of key Spanish phrases found in the records, along with a key for abbreviations used in the extracted records. There are three indexes included in this book: an index of the baptisms, an index of parents, and an index of godparents, grandparents, and others named in the records. All proceeds of books produced and sold by the New Mexico Genealogical Society help the society preserve the rich history of New Mexico and New Mexico ancestors.
